Nissan e-POWER Explained: X-Trail and Qashqai, Melton
What is Nissan e-POWER?
In an e-POWER Nissan, the wheels are always driven by an electric motor. A small petrol engine runs a generator to make the electricity, so you never need to plug in. It drives like an electric car, quiet and smooth, but you fill up with petrol as normal.
X-Trail e-POWER
The X-Trail e-POWER comes in ST-L, Ti and Ti-L grades. The 4WD versions have e-4ORCE all-wheel drive, which controls each axle electrically for grip on wet or gravel roads. The X-Trail is available with five or seven seats.
Qashqai e-POWER
The Qashqai range is now e-POWER only, in ST-L, Ti and Ti-L grades. It suits drivers who want a smaller SUV that is easy to park.
Who is e-POWER for?
e-POWER suits drivers who want an electric-style drive without needing a charger at home. If you can charge at home, also look at the all-electric Nissan Ariya.
Do I need to plug in an e-POWER Nissan?
No. The petrol engine makes the electricity, so there is no charging.
